Playing format: Round robin

The Women’s AFTERNOON league is competitive while creating a place for women who love pickleball to have fun in an encouraging and positive environment. Warm ups start at 3:30 PM with play starting promptly at 4:00 PM.

Player Skill Expectations

The Intermediate Women’s Pickleball League is designed for women with a skill level of 3.5 and above. To ensure competitive and enjoyable games, all participants must receive pre-approval from the league coordinators. Here are the key skill expectations:

  1. Familiarity with Rules and Scoring: Participants should have a solid understanding of the basic rules and scoring system as outlined by the USAPA.
  2. Consistent Play: Players should demonstrate consistent shot-making skills, including effective serves, volleys, and dinks.
  3. Game Strategy: A good grasp of game strategies, such as positioning, court awareness, and shot selection, is essential.
  4. Communication and Sportsmanship: Strong communication skills and a commitment to positive sportsmanship are crucial. Players should foster a supportive and encouraging environment on and off the court.
  5. Match Readiness: Players should be prepared for fun & competitive play, with the ability to engage in rallies and maintain an intermediate level of play throughout each match.

The pre-approval process is not meant to deter you from signing up; rather, it’s designed to ensure that everyone enjoys fun, competitive games. We aim to create balanced matches where all players can challenge themselves and have a great time.   • DUPR Scores: Player scores will be recorded in DUPR. Ensure you have an active DUPR account to receive your initial or updated player rating by the end of the season.
  • Equipment and Essentials: Bring your own pickleball paddle, plenty of water, and stay hydrated. Sunscreen, comfortable attire, and protective glasses are highly recommended. Balls for play will be provided.
  • Participation: Players are expected to plan to attend each week. Consistent attendance is crucial for maintaining balanced teams and ensuring that all matches are competitive and enjoyable. Your participation is essential for the league’s success, so please make every effort to be present each week.
  • Registration for DUPR: To register for a DUPR account, visit myDUPR.com. Once registered, please join the Pickleball Club of Chesterfield County CLUB to stay connected with the league.
