New Beulah Recreation Center Opens with Indoor Pickleball
The new Beulah Recreation Center held a Ribbon Cutting and Open House on Sunday, June 25.
The former Beulah Elementary School has been renovated and repurposed into a recreation center and new home for the Parks and Recreation Department's Administrative Office.
It has 3 pickleball courts in the newly remodeled gym where Open/Rotational Play will be scheduled in the near future on some days and perhaps some evenings, too. More on this soon.

4th of July Pickleball Event
Join us at Rockwood Park Pickleball Courts for the PCCC annual 4th of July Celebration. Come socialize with other players, join in some games, and feel free to bring a snack to share if you wish. Play begins at 8 am with snacks and plenty of opportunity to play.

Honoring Leslie Moore as PCCC Treasurer
Long-time board member Leslie Moore has served PCCC well as Treasurer for the club and advocate for Chesterfield Pickleball. Leslie is also a key person for the PCCC website and at open play. After serving for five years, Leslie has announced she is finishing up her role as Treasurer effective July 1. We owe much to Leslie’s organizational skills and commitment to the club, and thank her for all her contributions.

PCCC Fall Leagues
Our ever popular PCCC Pickleball Leagues will resume this Fall. More information will follow in the next newsletter. Look out for sign ups in August with leagues starting up in September. Lynze Kapp did a great job as League Commissioner for the Spring League and will continue for Fall. Thank you again to all the coordinators that work hard to make the leagues so much fun each season! If you are interested in becoming a coordinator- email Lynze at [email protected].

USTA Sponsored Leagues – Dodd Park
USTA is also sponsoring local Pickleball Leagues. Leagues filled quickly & are no longer accepting players for this summer's league but you can go watch some great competition at Point of Rocks (Dodd Park). The 9.0 leagues play on Tuesdays & 7.5 leagues play on Thursdays at 7:00 pm. Feel free to come check out what the USTA leagues have to offer & play on the open courts with some of the teams!

Bangers & Dinks Indoor Pickleball
July marks the opening of Bangers & Dinks Indoor Pickleball, located near Dick’s Sporting Goods on Koger Center Blvd. Memberships are available, as well as $12 daily passes. Check out all the great features at https://www.bangersanddinks.com.

Safety Message
The summertime heat is a reminder to us all to include ICE (In Case of Emergency) info on all paddles and bags we bring to the courts. While we may or may not be the one laying on a court, it’s a helpless feeling seeing someone on the way to the ER and there’s no way to contact their family. Please include your name, emergency contact person and their phone number. Be safe out there!

Business License and Special Event Application Required to Sell on County Property
Be aware that to sell anything (shirts, paddles, services) on Chesterfield County property you must have a Chesterfield County business license and completed special event application approved at least 10 days prior. This includes all parks, county parking lots, and pickleball courts. Contact the Chesterfield Commissioner of Revenue for details.
