2 hours before Open Play begins there is rotational play for new players
Here are some standards of pickleball etiquette, which make play in Chesterfield County such a pleasure.
1. During Open Play times (posted on the PCCC calendar), play one game to 11 points when others are waiting, leave the court, and rotate back to a court when it is your turn to play again.
2. Don’t walk behind players while they are in the middle of a point. Wait, announce yourself, and then proceed with all four players (with ball) at the same time.
3. Stack paddles left to right to indicate the next group playing. The left-most paddles are next in line.
4. A group cannot bypass another group, even if there is only one or two in that line. That line must be filled first.
We encourage you to always be conscious of safety. Wear well fitting court shoes, stay hydrated, and use eye protection. We also recommend that you put an "In Case of Emergency" (I.C.E.) contact name and number on your paddle.
Stop playing on your court immediately if someone yells “ball” to avoid tripping incidents, and be sure you alert other courts to balls hit into their court.
Final tip: Don’t run backwards! Turn and run.
