PCCC Special Event

Come on out to the Scott Pickleball Center at Rockwood Park tomorrow morning for some food, fun, and of course, PICKLEBALL! We are continuing the annual tradition of gathering to socialize on Labor Day, enjoying the camaraderie that pickleball naturally provides.

We invite you to bring a snack or drinks to share, but it is not mandatory. Just come and socialize with us. We miss our old friends and we’ll welcome newcomers at the same time.

Fall League Play Starts Tuesday, September 2nd

Finally, after a long hot summer, Fall League play begins! Get your paddles ready because Tuesday kicks off the season with Dodd, Rockwood and CTC hosting. Proof that we continue to grow as a club can be seen in the numbers: 615 happy players across 16 leagues!
At CTC, the courts will be in use each evening between 6:00 and 8:30 for the next 2 months, so plan your playing time before or after those hours.

Rockwood, Harry Daniels, and Dodd Park will also run leagues on specific days, with limited open play space.

Please check the new calendar starting September 1st. It contains all the details of which courts are available and when!

Play will continue for eight weeks, ending on Monday, October 27th. If you believe you signed up but have not heard from your league coordinator yet, please email the Co-Commissioners immediately at commissioner@chesterfieldpickleball.club.

    Chesterfield County Wants Your Feedback

Chesterfield Parks and Recreation is collecting feedback for their ADA transition Plan. As users of the county pickleball courts, our input is valuable, and it would be great to give back in a small way by supporting their efforts to improve accessibility to parks and programs for all. Would you take a moment to fill out the American with Disabilities Act Transition Plan Survey?

    Court News and Updates

We are grateful to our Chesterfield Board of Supervisors and our Parks and Rec Dept. for approving and installing the new blue awning over the walkway at CTC. At first, it didn't provide the shade that we desperately needed at that location, but after some backyard engineering and design work from our players, Parks and Rec allowed us to temporarily add curtains, which shade the majority of the walkway. The engineers at Parks and Rec are designing something with the same functionality that looks better. Until then, we are happy to have the additional shade from the current workaround. Thanks to all who jumped in to help with this project. We have the absolute best group of volunteers anywhere!
In other court news, we have some new facilities on the way! A 12-court, lighted pickleball facility has been approved for Horner Park, off Genito Road. We expect it will be ready for play sometime in 2026. In the meantime, four courts are going up in the new Cosby Neighborhood Park. They may be ready this winter if the weather holds out!

Pickleball Player’s Tip: Track the Paddle

At the advanced level, anticipation separates winners from reactors. One powerful habit? Learn to track your opponent’s paddle, not just the ball. The paddle gives away intent before contact. Read more HERE.

Thanks to Nate Nalven at #spacecoastnate for the tip!

Another Scam Circulating the Pickleball Community

Hackers and identity thieves would love to get their hands on your information! We know that phishing and spoof emails are increasing in number and sophistication. This is a reminder to exercise caution when opening emails and to refrain from clicking on suspicious links. If it looks fishy, it probably is, so verify with the sender that it’s real or just delete it. Better safe than sorry!
(Note: we have heard of a suspicious Evite currently circulating through the pickleball community inviting you to a lunch party--please beware!)
