Chesterfield Pickleball News
|
At last! The spring months are here and late evening light permits even more pickleball play at every court. In this issue:
|
- Pickleball Recycle Bins
- Leagues Have Started – Plan Accordingly
- Substitute Player Requirements
- Free Membership
- Graphic Artist Volunteer
Good news for the planet! We now have a special Recycle Bin for Pickleballs located at CTC. Now when one of your balls has sailed across (or into!) the net for the last time, please deposit it in the marked Recycle Bin. No other materials in these bins please. Hopefully PCCC will be able to obtain bins for our other courts in the future.

· League play is underway and we once again thank Jackie Keenan for leading the effort this spring. We are still seeking a League Commissioner beginning with the Fall season, so please contact Linda Scott if you – or you and a partner – can do this. There are great League Coordinators to assist in this effort.
|
· Please check the PCCC calendar on the web and Facebook to see if leagues are playing on your local courts through June 1. There are always Open Play courts available, but some evenings you may consider another location.
|
· We have over 600 participants enjoying league play this season, with most from Chesterfield County. One of our league rules is there can be no misrepresentation about county of residence for league play.
|
Substitute League Players – Caution
|
League Coordinators make every effort to allow the correct number of players each session. Due to last minute issues, sometimes a player can’t make it. Keep in mind that NO player can be a sub for league game unless they are registered for a Spring League. This violates our insurance policy.

We all enjoy pickleball, especially for the play we find in Chesterfield County. All our resources and courts are a result of the PCCC and our collaboration with Parks and Rec. To keep this going, we rely on our wonderful corps of volunteers – those that monitor the indoor and outdoor courts, lead leagues, work on our website, and serve on the Board. Talents are needed for a graphic artist/photographer. Please contact Linda Scott at 804-683-8481 to discuss. Won’t you consider stepping up to further the Chesterfield pickleball experience?

- Create 1-2 graphics a month as needed for Pickleball events and communications. This may be for Facebook, web, and newsletter use, or posters announcing events.
- Fall League Commissioner(s)
April is National Pickleball Month so let's celebrate and share this great sport with as many new players as possible. See you on the courts!
