Join Us for 4th of July Celebration
Don’t forget about the traditional 4th of July Celebration at Rockwood on Thursday morning from 8:00 to 11:00. We will celebrate our Nation’s Birth with lots of flags, wearing red/white and blue attire, food and beverages that some players bring to share. Or, just come play pickleball and visit with long time and new friends. It’s always a lot of fun.

Watch for League Registration
We're thrilled to announce that registration for the Fall 2024 Pickleball League will begin soon, offering you the opportunity to join in on the action. Leagues will run from September 3 – October 28.

Registration Details:
  • Initial registration is reserved for Chesterfield County Residents followed by non-Chesterfield registration. Dates and procedures will be emailed to PCCC members later in July. No new membership applications for PCCC will be accepted from July 5 – August 5.
  • Beginning July 1, 2024 Chesterfield County has instituted a $15.00 fee for non-residents, which will be added to the registration cost. Even with that, the leagues are a great deal.
egistration will be conducted online at Chesterfield Pickleball Club. Keep an eye out for league postings by mid-July.

Pre-Approval Information: Some leagues require pre-approval to ensure competitive balance. Pre-approvals are based on an official pickleball rating or a DUPR (Dynamic Universal Player Rating) score. We understand that some players' DUPR ratings may not accurately reflect their current level of play. If this is the case for you, please contact the appropriate coordinator to assist with the approval process. Pre-approval is not confirmation of registration, and spots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The pre-approval process is not meant to deter you from signing up; rather, it’s designed to ensure that everyone enjoys fun, competitive games. We aim to create balanced matches where all players can challenge themselves and have a great time. If you have any questions or concerns about the pre-approval process or your skill level, please reach out to the league coordinators once the leagues/coordinators are posted on the website. We’re here to support you and ensure that everyone has a rewarding experience on the court!
Note on DUPR: All players participating in leagues using DUPR must create an account at myDUPR.com prior to the league start date. Once registered, players are required to join the Pickleball Club of Chesterfield County CLUB in DUPR.

If you have any questions regarding the registration process, pre-approval, or DUPR, please don't hesitate to reach out to the league coordinators. We're here to assist you and ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience on the courts! Let’s make this fall season of pickleball awesome!

More Compliments to Chesterfield Pickleball
I just wanted to share an excerpt from a lovely note we received from a South Carolina lady who visited Rockwood to play. This says a lot about pickleball in Chesterfield!

The real reason for this email is to commend you for the information-packed, color-coded PCCC Calendar. I was in town last week for a wedding and stayed with my bestie in Chesterfield and recently took a few lessons because I talked about pb so much. I found the PCCC calendar and off to Rockwood Park we went! I love that there are dedicated pickleball courts in at least part shade, benches and the restrooms nearby. I found the people during open play very friendly with varying skill levels and fun to play with and against . I am a 3.333 (haha) player unofficially and found players at Rockwood with different skill levels and competitive but not arrogant. A few were willing to play with my friend and provided tips to help develop her playing ability.

I look forward to returning to Chesterfield to visit family and friends and will certainly check out the PCCC Calendar for places, dates and times to scratch my itch while I'm away from home.

Mid-Atlantic USA Pickleball Select Series Event
Heather Conger, of USA Pickleball invites you to the Mid-Atlantic USA Pickleball Select Series Event. This premier event will take place at Performance Pickleball Richmond Virginia (PPBRVA) in Henrico on July 18-21.
To make this tournament a premier level experience, it takes volunteers that enjoy being part of a wonderful tournament team. I am asking for your help and time in representing USAP during this event by helping in a way that is suitable for you. You can sign up for one slot or more as you feel comfortable. If you have friends that would like to volunteer as well, feel free to send them the link as well.
